Team GB canoeist Laura Blakeman today visited the London 2012 venue for Canoe Slalom to see the construction progress being made on its construction.
The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) has begun the process of sourcing more than 180 support (non-competition) boats for the Sailing, Rowing, Canoeing, Triathlon and Open Water Swim events in the summer of 2012.
Construction started on the venue in July 2009.
Good progress is being made on the construction of the world-class White Water Canoe Centre in Broxbourne for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Construction work has started on time on the London 2012 Rowing and Canoe Sprint venue, Eton Dorney in Windsor.
Construction has started on the White Water Canoe Centre in Broxbourne where the Canoe Slalom events will take place during the London 2012 Games.
The contractor to build the enhanced Rowing and Canoe/Kayak facilities at Dorney Lake has been appointed by the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA).
